Inter are still in the market for a new defender to bolster Simone Inzaghi’s options at the back and La Gazzetta dello Sport have pointed out a few names that the Nerazzurri could turn to this summer.
Though Inter have already welcomed Yann Aurel Bisseck, they are still down a defender from last season, having parted company with both Milan Skriniar and Danilo D’Ambrosio.
Plenty of names have been linked with a move to San Siro this summer, though not all of them are easily attainable options.
Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah is one whose name has been cropping up for several months already, although following the long-term injury to Wesley Fofana, the Londoners are unwilling to let any other centre-backs leave for the time being.
It is a similar situation at Arsenal with Takehiro Tomiyasu, who likely will not be made available for a loan deal, which is what Inter would have been pushing for according to reports.
La Gazzetta claims that Benjamin Pavard would be the first choice by some distance, but a deal with Bayern Munich will be difficult to achieve.
There is said to be interest in Real Betis defender Luiz Felipe, who Inzaghi knows well from their time spent together at Lazio.
One of the most attainable names on the list, however, is Tiago Djalo of Lille, who has experience of playing both centrally and at right-back.
Djalo is currently out injured, so La Gazzetta claim that a cut-price deal could potentially be struck in January, or even a free transfer next summer when his contract expires.
